The Black Panther. I had been waiting and anticipating its release. I was so excited to watch the film opening night!
When you watch the movie you experience so many themes that are interwoven into the script. When you leave you feel as though what you just watched has challenged you to do something with the information that you have just gained. In one of my favorite lines in the film, longtime friend Nakia looks at T’Challa, the Black Panther, and states, “Only you can decide what kind of king you want to be.”
We all have choices. Some seem small and some seem big. One choice can set us up for success while another can set us up for a detour. All of them matter. The truth is that you have the honor and the privilege to decide what kind of person you want to be. I am currently experiencing the loss of someone that I hold very dear. This person’s legacy in my life will never be replaced or forgotten. He was not perfect but he chose the things that mattered. 1 Corinthians 13:13 says “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
The impact that our lives make hinge on our choices. What kind of person are you choosing to be?
